Box sets in miniature? What?!
Yes, you read correctly! Not only am I making miniature books, but now boxes to put them in as well. I make these for series, both mini and super mini versions.
What’s so special about them?
Many things, my friend. Many things.
ONE. I design them entirely myself. I go into Microsoft Word or Publisher (who needs complicated Photoshop?) and make a template based on the size of all the books in the series all lined up. Then I go find some pictures related to the series on the internet and use them to decorate the boxes. What’s the result?
A Harry Potter box set with designs of Hogwarts Castle on the box. What else?
A super mini Harry Potter box set with TWO versions. One is cover art from the 7th book. The other is what looks like cover art that never got used- looks like something from the 7th as well. Similar styles. Both beautiful.
TWO. They’re made of durable index paper and glued securely so they can be used for storing the books (and sending them to friends) again and again.
THREE. They’re the perfect fit because I custom fit them to the book series! The larger box measures 2″ wide by 1 1/4″ long by 1 3/4″ high. It’s a nice snug fit so the books won’t fall out easily. The smaller boxes average 1 1/4″ wide by 3/4″ long by 1″ high.
Frankly, I think they’re just cute. Easy to make. Great for storing mini books. And who knows what’ll be next? What other book accessories can I make in miniature? Bookmarks? (Is there a market for that? *writes in idea notebook anyway*) Bookends? Oh man, that would be adorable. Good thing I am experienced in both sculpting and woodworking. We could definitely have a dollhouse furniture market here. I dunno, what else do you guys want to see in the shop? Give me ideas!! I do have some things in the works, though, so stay tuned (:
